Digibind
Generic Name: Digoxin Immune Fab (di-JOX-in)
Brand Name: Digibind and DigiFab
Digibind is used for:Treating severe, possibly life-threatening digoxin or digitoxin overdose.
Digibind is an antidote for digoxin toxicity. It works by binding to digoxin and preventing it from working in the body.
Do NOT use Digibind if:- you are allergic to any ingredient in Digibind
Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.
Before using Digibind :Some medical conditions may interact with Digibind . Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:
- if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
- if you are
taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
- if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances
- if you are allergic to antibiotics, papain, chymopapain, or papaya extracts
- if you have previously received any medicines made from sheep
- if you have kidney problems, heart problems (eg, heart failure, atrial fibrillation), or abnormal blood potassium levels
Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Digibind . However, no specific interactions with Digibind are known at this time.

How to use Digibind :Use Digibind as directed by your doctor. Check the label on
the medicine for exact dosing instructions.
- Digibind is given as an injection at your doctor's office, hospital, or clinic.
- If you miss a dose of Digibind , contact your doctor right away.
Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use Digibind .
Important safety information:
- Digibind may interfere with certain lab tests, including blood digitalis levels. Be sure your doctor and lab personnel know you are using Digibind .
- LAB TESTS, including blood digoxin, digitoxin, or potassium levels, may be performed while you use Digibind . These tests may be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments.
- Use Digibind with caution in the ELDERLY; they may be more sensitive to its effects.
- PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: It is not known if Digibind can
cause harm to the fetus. If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Digibind while you are pregnant. It is not known if Digibind is found in breast milk. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you use Digibind , check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.
Possible side effects of Digibind :All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. No COMMON side effects have been reported with Digibind . Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur: Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing;
tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); fast or irregular heartbeat; fever.

Proper storage of Digibind :Digibind is usually handled and stored by a health care provider. If you are using Digibind at home, store Digibind as directed by your pharmacist or health care provider. Keep Digibind out of the reach of children and away from pets.
