Preventing infection caused by certain types of meningococcal bacteria (eg, meningococcal meningitis).

Meningococcal (A, C, Y, W-135) Polysaccharide Diphtheria Toxoid Conjugate Vaccine is a vaccine. It works by causing your immune system to produce antibodies that help to prevent infection by certain meningococcal bacteria.

Do NOT use Meningococcal (A, C, Y, W-135) Polysaccharide Diphtheria Toxoid Conjugate Vaccine if:

  • you are allergic to any ingredient in Meningococcal (A, C, Y, W-135) Polysaccharide Diphtheria Toxoid Conjugate Vaccine , or to rubber latex
  • you have bleeding problems (eg, hemophilia, low platelets) or take anticoagulants (eg, warfarin)
